Following the wildly successful launch of their debut album Hearts and Desire in October 2022, Close to Forever are very excited to return to Django @ Camelot on Thursday 12th October.

Close to Forever, the creative love child of Dale Caldwell (vocals) and Ben Fink (guitar, vocals), is a 6 piece band featuring some of Australia’s most acclaimed and talented musicians: Chris Abrahams (the Necks) – piano, Sam Golding (Mara Big Band)- horns, Danny Heifetz (Mr Bungle)- drums and Peter Hollo (Tangents, Fourplay) – cello.

Creating dramatic soundscapes both grand and intimate, they will showcase their beautiful original songs and a select mix of handcrafted interpretations of works from artists as diverse as Tim Buckley, PJ Harvey and Nina Simone plus traditional art/folk pieces. Their sound has been described as a searing and haunting listening experience, a beautiful mix of rich vocal harmony, luscious arrangements and improvisation.

For this performance they will have special guest artist Brendan Cook from Picturedrift doing live visuals, interacting with the music as it happens.

Brendan, who is one of Australia’s best Motion Designers and Animation Directors, created Close to Forever’s first ever video for their single Hearts and Desire using Dale Caldwell’s beautiful artworks.
