Swinging 20s & 30s jazz/ A modern take on New Orleans jazz

Fresh from their successful appearances at the 2023’s Manly Jazz Festival, and Jazz In The Park (Balmain), and the 2024 Sydney Con Jazz Festival, The Greasy Chicken Orchestra makes its triumphant return to their favourite Inner West venue, Ashfield’s Miss Celie’s Bar and Kitchen.

They will perform 3 big sets of their finely tuned brand of swinging 20s/30s jazz, with a focus on early Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong and Jelly Roll Morton, tunes including such early jazz classics as East St. Louis Toodle-oo, Chant of the Weed, and Frog-I-More Moore Rag, as well as stylistically harmonious originals.
