Description

HAZTET @haztetcollective

Eora/Sydney-based neu jazz / electronic fusion collective HAZTET explore a cosmic vastitude of dense sonic realms, guided continuously by the rich, bountiful osmosis of improvised collaborative experimentation.

Profoundly inspired by the music of Yussef Kamaal, Roy Hargrove, Pharoah Sanders, and John Coltrane, audiences can expect vibrant jazz harmony, and percussion-driven Afro-infused grooves with layered ambient SFX soundscapes. Fronted by Perth-born multi-instrumentalist Harry Tompsett, HAZTET features a unique assortment of Eora’s most exciting emerging creative artists.

Ella Haber @ellahaber.music

Since releasing her first single in February 2019, 25-year-old Sydney artist Ella Haber has made her arrival known. After receiving support for her debut EP, CLAY, from local and international radio (BBC 1XTRA, MiSoul, Jazz FM, Worldwide FM, triple J, FBi radio) Ella went on to sell out her first Sydney show, and complete her first East Coast headline tour, in celebration of the Jordan Rakei-produced record. Following up her tour with supports for the likes of Julien Dyne, Lord Echo, Ngaiire, Surprise Chef, Kamaal Williams & Alfa Mist, Ella’s reputation as a multi-instrumentalist – playing piano, trumpet and guitar – and powerfully evocative songwriter is weaving its way through her communities, both at home and abroad. Catching the ear of UK tastemakers, she was invited to play Gilles Peterson’s (BBC Radio 6/Brownswood) inaugural ‘We Out Here’ festival in London as the only act representing Sydney and spotlighted by Jamz Supernova (BBC 1XTRA / Future Bounce) for an exclusive London headline showcase, with Soul Has No Tempo label-mate Tiana Khasi. Ella is currently completing work on a new record, with new music due for release in 2023.

Godriguez (Trio) @godtetgodtet
“Godriguez is adept at unleashing torrents of Dilla-esque musical genius” — VICE

“Godriguez plunges into sounds more surreal, with scratchy, distorted samples and almost industrial sounding instrumentals that shiver and boom.”  — The Guardian

Widely regarded as one of the country’s best hip hop producers, Godriguez, the Alter-ego of guitarist Dave Rodriguez, has played with some of the biggest names in jazz and hip hop. Most well know for his work with Sampa The Great, Godriguez’s glitchy, off-kilter beats and eclectic soundscapes earned him support slots for Hip-Hop icon Kendrick Lamar and Neo-Soul darlings Hiatus Kaiyote to name a few. In October 2017, He released the debut LP for his live band project GODTET which LNWY magazine hailed as “…one of the most important contemporary jazz releases to come out of Australia in a long time.”
