15 years ago, Horrorshow released Inside Story, the sophomore album that cemented their arrival as some of the most standout artists among the cohort that emerged during Hip Hop’s coming of age in Australian music culture.
Packed with musical sophistication and insightful lyricism, Inside Story was well beyond the 21 years of age the duo were at the time and accordingly it set the industry abuzz, leading to support tours with Hilltop Hoods, Bliss n Eso and Urthboy and the solidification of their own loyal fanbase that has been riding shotgun on their journey ever since.
An epic decade and a half later, Horrorshow announce the Inside Story 15 Year Anniversary Tour to celebrate this much loved album with an East Coast run of shows in prestige venues throughout November.
Following the departure of producer Adit from touring, Horrorshow frontman Nick Solo continues to reimagine the group’s live format, and this tour will feature a top notch band of jazz musicians playing the album in full, bringing its songs to life to deliver a virtuosic rendition of these cult classic fan favourites.
On main support for the run is fellow One Day crew member Jimmy Nice, the acclaimed MC whose artistry has been on full display through his solo material following a long and successful career as one half of Spit Syndicate.
To celebrate this milestone and reflect on the journey the album has led to, Solo will also be hosting a series of exclusive Artist Talks entitled “The Stories Inside”. Limited to 100 VIP tickets per show, these intimate sessions will see Nick on stage telling never before heard backstories and insights as well as an audience Q&A session and exclusive acapella poetry set.
With Inside Story vinyl now having been out of print for over 10 years, accompanying the tour is a special limited edition re-release via Impressed, featuring a new version of the album cover designed by visual artist Gimiks and newly remastered audio commissioned especially for this collaboration.
Navigating a period of huge change with the stepping back of Adit and the closure of longtime label Elefant Traks, join Horrorshow for one last look back at where the group has come from before continuing on to the next chapter of this ever evolving story that is far from over.
