Hovering Spooks and The Silver Dragons

The Hovering Spooks kick off 2025 playing at the Link & Pin with local legends The Silver Dragons joining the party. It will be a top night so come and join in.

The Hovering Spooks play psychedelic-post-punk-power-pop-art-rock. The band members have been an integral part of the Australian indie music scene since the late seventies both as live performers and recording artists. The Spooks have been rapidly building a following at gigs around Sydney and are about to release new material.

The Spooks are:

• Bruce “Cub” Callaway – Guitar and Vocals
• Paul Larsen – Drums and Vocals
• Richard Burgman – Guitar and Vocals
• Phil Hall – Bass and Vocals

Their CVs are too long to list, but as The Barman said in his recent I-94 Bar review of The Spooks “the bands that their members haven’t played in can be accommodated on the big end of a pin … if that’s not enough underground star power for you, go form your own supergroup.”

The Silver Dragons were born from a necessity to combine a succulent Chinese meal with swampy garage rock’n’roll (named after a retro Chinese restaurant in Umina on NSW Central Coast). Think Gun Club meets Big Star via The Clash & Johnny Thunders with a tinge of garage-sleaze. The Silver Dragons have their own legendary member, Graham “Hoodie” Hood. The lineup consists of:
