Mark Moldre + Infinity Broke At Link And Pin, Woy Woy
past event
Description
It’s been yonks since I played a live show. The time has come. Central Coast folk I’ll be bringing the whole band with me to make a solid racket.
All the way from the Eastern Suburbs of NSW, the explosive, percussive, krautrock noise machine, Infinity Broke will kick off the proceedings, launching their new single Abject Object. In fact 3/5’s of my band make up 3/4’s of Infinity Broke.
Entry is free of charge, all ages welcome. We’ll kick things off at 2pm.
MARK MOLDRE
I was asked to write a blurb about the band a few months ago….
“A band of misfits and marauders who’ve travelled together from Canberra to France. Gin and green tea drinkers. A group of musical pillager’s who sound like the un-oiled wheels on a lurching gypsy caravan. If you listen very closely you’ll experience tender romance and dark corners, death and redemption, human struggle versus biblical consequences, dreams/nightmares and bad weather. They can be as gritty as a 1920’s speakeasy or as smooth as Sinatra at The Sands.”
“Mark Moldre might just be the best Australian songwriter you’ve never heard of.” – Jeff Jenkins, Rhythms Magazine.
“There is a quiet fortitude in the delivery and a melody and majestic framework that echoes songwriters as astute and eloquent as Moldre: Mark Oliver Everett from The Eels, Elvis Costello or Bruce Springsteen. ….heartbreakingly beautiful in its capture of loss and its quiet celebration of memory and love.” – Arun Kendall, Backseat Mafia
INFINITY BROKE
“Formed in 2013 by founding Bluebottle Kiss member Jamie Hutchings, Infinity Broke are a quartet that have been described by Rolling Stone Australia as ‘A powerful exercise in dissonance, rhythm, and melody’. The band’s two headed percussive approach (Scott Hutchings on drums/guitar and Tyrone Stevens on aux drums/percussion) alongside Jamie on guitar/vocals and Reuben Wills on bass has seen them hypnotise audiences all over the east coast as well as throughout France where the band has toured twice. The group will release its fourth album ‘This Masthead’ in April 2025.”
‘Like Thurston Moore covering Neil Young’s Like a Hurricane in Dusseldorf’
The Music
The Music
“Infinity Broke are a band that does not go gently into the night: their new album ‘Your Dream My Jail’ is an excoriating, driven, thunderous slice of post-punk cake that is angular, studded and visceral” – Arun Kendall, Backseat Mafia
