Milly McPherson with Civic Video and Good Ramen

past event

Description

Milly McPherson with Civic Video and Good Ramen will bring you into summer, all drawing their music from their different backgrounds, you are bound to attend an event that is an electric and lively example of Sydney’s Indie Rock scene.

Milly McPherson:

Milly McPherson is a singer, songwriter who hails from Sydney’s east. She performs alongside close friends Oliver Hitchen, Sunny Capron and Ben Gordon, who form her backing band and make a creative impact on her music. Milly’s voice and songs draw influence from folk, indie, rock and pop genres in her contemplations of the only too well-known messes of young love and young loss. Previously playing the music scene as singer and co-composer of ‘June and The Desert Flames’ and embarking on solo works, join her on her solo journey. She brings a positive and exciting spirit with an empowered stage presence that makes for a great show.

Civic Video:

Civic Video have honed their shimmery, swirling indie rock sound that sought to get audiences to feel deeply and want to dance, they released two singles, ‘Letters’ and ‘Wasted Days’, the latter of which has gone on to receive high acclaim from triple j’s Home and Hosed host Ashley McGregor, as well as platforms 2RRR, 2SSR and Hobart’s Edge Radio. The band are now super stoked to have just released their third single, ‘If I Could Make You Dance’. The lively, upbeat swagger of this track has already gone down a treat in the live show setting over the last couple of months, and the group are very excited to have it out in the world for everyone to hear and enjoy.

Good Ramen:

powered by the sun and pure rage, this alt-rock 3 and/or 4 piece dances on the grave of everything musically sacred and wears tap shoes dipped in paint while doing it. drawing inspiration from dirt, nails, broken glass, and the dandy warhols, you’ll probably hear them on triple j eventually – just not while their blood pact is in play.
