British folk superstars return with long-awaited new music

It’s been six long years since London’s folk-rock finest performed in Australia, and seven since they last released an album of new music. Now, with their forthcoming record, Rushmere set to drop on March 28, Mumford & Sons are back for one night only, playing in-the-round in the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall.

One of the most beloved folk-rock acts of the century, Mumford & Sons emerged from the West London scene to break through with their Mercury Prize-nominated debut, Sigh No More (2009), before going on to top the charts worldwide with the multi-platinum albums Babel (2012), Wilder Mind (2015) and Delta (2018). They’ve won two Grammys, a Brit Award, an ARIA and multiple other accolades, sold millions of records, and thrilled audiences across the globe.

After a pair of one-off song collaborations with Noah Kahan and Pharrell Williams, Rushmere – named for a London pond where Mumford, bassist Ben Lovett, and keyboardist Ted Dwane once hung out – marks Mumford & Sons’ first new album in seven years, and their first as a trio. The album was produced by Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile), and recorded between Nashville, Savannah and Mumford’s home studio in Devon.

Don’t miss the return of one of folk rock’s biggest groups — and most electric live acts.
