Fresh off the back of their sold-out show at Lazybones Lounge, Marrickville; Australian four-piece Necko is pleased to announce their debut single ‘Wicked Woman’, releasing digitally in late February, 2023. Necko’s maiden track offers fans a combination of classic rock themes and dizzying vocals with an elaborate instrumental outro. To support their debut release, Necko are also pleased to announce a headline show and launch at The Brass Monkey in Cronulla on Sunday, February 26.

‘Wicked Woman’ was produced by D.E.L. during studio sessions in early 2022 after the initial idea for the track was created in a session between frontman Alek Necko and Thirsty Merc bassist Phil Stack. Writing this single was a euphoric experience for Alek, who has reflected on the record by stating, “Wicked is everything I believe this band represents – groovy rock and roll with the swagger and heaviness of our 70s influences. It was a defining moment in the writing process for me. It felt like a checkpoint; like I’d managed for the first time to express everything I am as a musician in the most concise way possible.”

Since late 2022, the group has played multiple shows throughout their hometown of Sydney, Australia. Necko, made up of Alek Necko (lead singer & guitarist), Blake Perry (bass and keys), Reno Torrisi (drums), and Daniel Markovski (guitar), have been making waves in the Sydney rock scene throughout 2022 drawing in crowds with their electric energy and soulful riffs. They have quickly built up a loyal following of over 500 fans who are awaiting their imminent debut release.
