Summer Express at South Eveleigh is a unique advent-style calendar of daily holiday rolling into town from Tuesday 21st November through to Saturday 23 December. The historic site of Sydney’s Locomotive Workshops will become a kaleidoscope of colour and activity for 5-weeks of free, fun events including Santa sightings, live music, pop-up games, festive food and drink offerings and family-friendly entertainment.

The event will showcase a great lineup of local musical talent with feature performances every Saturday afternoon from acts including: Declan Kelly with his signature roots and Polynesian harmonies;  Victor Valdes, his Latin harp and mariachi band; Sydney’s bluegrass darlings The Morrisons; and ARIA-award winning singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Georgia Mooney, known from beloved folk band All Our Exes Live In Texas.

The event offers live entertainment from Tuesday to Saturday for 5-weeks and promises something for all ages and tastes including: the soulful tones of up and coming artist Piper Butcher; the musical stylings of jazz bassist and vocalist Lauren White; the energy and infectious grooves of Sydney funk artist Craig Calhoun; drum-less R&B, Neo-Soul and Funk covers by Conservatorium of Sydney jazz majors Jed & Chuey; and the nostalgic tones of vintage jazz and soul from acoustic duo, The Lonestar Satellites; along with DJ sets by DJ Tiny Dancer, Sounds of Nikki, Justin Valentino, DJ ARIA and more.

Other artists rounding out the live music program are Mitch Grainger, Corinne Gibbons, Ben & Baz, Gary Daley and James Greening, Kyke Hall, Miles Thomas & Ollie Thorpe and It’s All Greek to You. All performances are free to attend.

Beyond live music, South Eveleigh’s Summer Express will also play host to a range of other entertainment and experiences, including pop-up games, puppy-patting, Breko’s Music Bingo, table tennis and for kids there’s magicians, Santa sightings, a trackless train, a play area and lots of live entertainment including ARIA-nominated Australian Children’s band The Vegetable Plot.
