Spend your afternoon in the heart of Sydney Harbour at Cockatoo Island listening to emerging artists, Maanyung supported by Dyagula.

You’ll have an opportunity to picnic on the lawns of historic Biloela House, enjoy a jaw-dropping harbour views and be taken to your happy place by a diverse line-up of emerging artists.

Maanyung is an artist with strong ties to the Gumbaynggirr and Yaegl nations. Passing on lifelong teachings of culture from his family and mentors, Maanyung shares his culture and traditional Aboriginal values of respect, care, love, sharing, looking after each other and our Mother Earth. Maanyung sings in his ancestor’s language, connecting him back with Country and spirit to deliver his music.

Dyagula is a Wiradjuri | Gamilaraay | Ngunawal | Walgalu Songwoman based on Gadigal land. A powerful and delicate multi-genre vocalist, composer, artist, music director, creator, and language revivalist. Dyagula means ‘Lyrebird’ in Wiradjuri and in her solo sets accompanied by Jack Hickey. She beautifully weaves her interpretive translations of well-known songs into her grandmother’s native tongue, often described as a remarkable inspiring experience.
