Chaotic metal outfit The Last Martyr have gone from strength-to-strength since unleashing their unique brand of metalcore, nu-metal and electro-fused dark rock. Their 2021 single ‘Hindsight,’ saw the band earn triple j rotation and Unearthed feature artist before rounding the year out with triple j’s Lochlan Watt selecting the tune as his favourite track uploaded to Unearthed that year.
Their 2021 EP, ‘Purgatory;’ produced by Chis Lalic (Windwaker, Rumours, Days Like These). was met with critical acclaim with NME declaring, “This five-track project is filled with gut-punch riffs, powerful vocals and propulsive blast beats,” and Hysteria Magazine gushing, “It doesn’t get more epic than Purgatory.”
2022 saw the release of single ‘Sugar,’ a sweet and unhinged tune the four-piece took like across the country on tour with hard rock heavyweights, Black Veil Brides (USA), nu-metal icons Sunk Loto and supported shows with Dayseeker (USA), Paledusk (JPN), and The Getaway Plan . The last 18 months have also seen The Last Martyr appear twice at Unify, Halloween Hysteria Festival, BIGSOUND, Froth & Fury Fest, and support Story Of The Year (USA) on their Melbourne and Sydney Knotfest sideshows in March.
The Last Martyr will be releasing their new single, ‘Burn It Down,’ this November ahead of two headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney. Don’t miss them playing this fierce new tune and other unreleased material as well as crowd favourites at Sydney’s Burdekin Hotel on 18 November supported by alt-rock band Live Like Animals as part of their ‘Modern State Of Mind’ album release tour, trap-metalcore trio The Weight Of Silence and emo rockers, Brooklyn Comic.
