The Morning Mood is an instrumental five-piece outfit reigning from the South-Coast city of Wollongong. From humble bedroom beginnings to sold-out local shows, The Morning Mood have developed their sound over the last year. The combination of glistening guitar lines interwoven with woodwind leads, accompanied by a bopping rhythm section allows for the projection of emotion without the necessitation of lyricism. The Morning Mood draws from a wide range of influences such as jazz, funk, psych-rock, blues, and ethnic music to create a melting pot of what they term ‘aural nectar’. Having released a beat tape titled ‘Perpetual Pleasures Pt. II’ during the infamous Covid-19 lockdown, The Morning Mood is looking to promote their upcoming releases with a show at La La La’s alongside dear friends Fergus Bailey and the Teeth.
Fergus Bailey & the Teeth are a Sydney-based alternative band, combining elements of jazz, folk, and rock. With the Teeth’s rich soundscape Fergus is able to explore themes of sorrow, joy, and warmth. With influences ranging from Nina Simone to Radiohead, Fergus Bailey & the Teeth create dynamic, varied, moving music that’s as good for dancing at a gig as it is for headphones at home.
